21 Weeks!

How far along: 21 weeks!
Size of baby: Carrot, 12.7 ounces and baby is 10.5 inches long! Baby is measuring bigger. 2 weeks bigger to be exact. My midwife said that each baby grows differently, but if by the next appt. I am still measuring 2 weeks bigger she will bump up my due date. So we will see...
Maternity clothes: A little of both :) Pants for sure, but sweaters not so much.
Gender: ??? This baby will be a surprise! I have no idea if this is a boy or a girl...I am at a complete loss, I thought for sure it was a boy and now I don't know. What I do know is that I will be having a baby :)
Movement: Yep! This little one is moving and twirling and punching and hiccuping and it is nothing but wonderful! Sometimes baby's movements are strong enough that they hurt just a little.
Sleep: I find myself readjusting a lot in the middle of the night but otherwise good.
Exercise: walking on an incline, kick boxing, minimal weight training, yoga, and prenatal pilates
What I miss: running, sleeping comfortably, not needing to pee every 30 minutes
Cravings: sandwiches, berries, whipped cream and pumpkin pie and yes sometimes all together :)
Aversions: pasta (really any sort of pasta) with red sauce
Symptoms: HUNGRY. ALL. THE. TIME. This week I am tired! I have had some major stretching pain as well. I have been having some braxton hicks, I spoke with my midwife and she told me not to worry unless I have 4 in an hour. Sometimes they take my breath away...she reminded me that its my body saying to maybe sit down and take a break. Oh, and my back is beginning to ache :(
Best moment this week: Seeing my midwife and hearing baby's heart just beating away. I also had a dream the other night that I had given birth at home to a baby girl. It seemed to make things seem so much more real. I mean, yes I know that a baby is coming but I just made it seem, I don't know...real!

20 weeks!

How far along: 20 weeks! Half way, which just seems crazy how fast this is going!
Size of baby: Banana, 10.6 ounces and baby is 9 inches long!
Weight gain/loss: +12 pounds, 130 this will be my last weigh in. Y'all I am struggling with looking at my weight gain and I know it stems from my body issues/eating disorders from the past. SO! I am throwing away the scale. I need to just enjoy this time and not stress about weight.
Maternity clothes: A little of both :) Most of my Fall/Winter sweaters still fit, but mostly maternity pants.
Gender: ??? This baby will be a surprise! Strong STRONG feeling it is a boy...
Movement: Yep! This little one is moving and twirling and punching and hiccuping and it is nothing but wonderful!
Sleep: I find myself readjusting a lot in the middle of the night but otherwise good.
Exercise: walking on an incline, kick boxing, minimal weight training, and prenatal pilates. I think that I enjoyed my last run this week. It was very tough and the next day my tummy was very crampy and it had me very worried, so just to be safe, running will have to wait until baby is born.
What I miss: Sleeping through the night!
Cravings: hmm...nothing that stands out this week.
Aversions: pasta with red sauce
Symptoms: HUNGRY. ALL. THE. TIME. I feel really really good, I forget that I am pregnant and then the little one kicks or twirls and then I am reminded that there is a little one inside. I do have some stretching pain. By the end of a work day or class I am exhausted.
Best moment this week: Seeing a perfectly healthy baby on Monday, we are beyond thankful and blessed! Feeling hiccups for the first time! Finding out my best friend is expecting! I am just SO happy for her and she is due a month and a half after me so our sweet little ones will be close in age :) Oh! and Phil and I have a much needed date night!

perfect baby

My prayer this morning in the shower was that today during the ultrasound we would see a perfectly healthy baby. A baby with a strong heart, working organs and ten fingers and ten toes.

(I use to think that these 3D ultrasound pics were creepy, so so different when its your baby)

Not only did God answer my prayer, we were able to see a sweet smile, a wave, a huge yawn and a sweet little chest rise and fall as baby practiced breathing. Baby is 9 inches long and weighs in about 9 ounces. Baby is bigger than Max was at this stage of my pregnancy. Oy!

My heart was so full and the tears fell. I am in awe with how precious this little life is and am so so thankful to experience this blessing.

Baby's heart rate was much slower then usual, but baby was sleeping. Once baby was awake and moving the heart rate picked back up.

I must say that I was very tempted to find out the gender, but I stood strong. I could have sworn up and down I had seen some little boy parts, but then the ultrasound tech informed me that we were looking at the brain...clearly I am not capable of distinguishing body parts! HA!

The neat thing this time around was every time I saw baby move on the screen, I was able to feel it.

I am even more in love.

Keep growing strong darling baby! Your mommy and daddy and big brother can not wait to meet you!
